Welcome to
LowNote Music

LowNote Music was created to put serious solo repertoire for the double bass, much of which has been forgotten or never published, back into the hands of today's players.

I specialize in the music of Anton Torello, a legendary Catalan bassist whose influence on American bass playing has been quietly enormous. Alongside Torello’s works, I also publish music by other major soloists and pedagogues from the late 19th and early 20th centuries—composers who believed the double bass could truly sing.

This is music meant to be practiced, performed, and lived with—not just studied from a distance.

Why Low Note Music Exists

LowNote Music grew out of my personal and historical connection to this repertoire and its tradition. With access to original manuscripts and the tools of modern music technology, I was able to restore, engrave, and record music that was nearly lost to time.

If you care about or want to participate in the rich history of solo double bass, you've come to the right place.
